This Library was originally created after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 as a resource for property and business owners, policyholder advocates, elected officials and the media. It is designed to explain and help solve insurance claim problems faced by home and business owners after large scale catastrophes. Emily Rogan joined United Policyholders in January 2008. As Program Coordinator, Emily works closely with the Executive Director and UP staff and volunteers to advance the mission of the organization through our three programs. For the last eight years she has educated homeowners and renters throughout the Bay Area on the importance of insurance and financial preparedness as a key component of disaster preparedness. Emily proudly represents United Policyholders at conferences, meetings and workshops hosted by community leaders, claim professionals, the insurance industry, local and state government and other NGOs. Emily currently serves on Curriculum Board of the California Department of Insurance. She is the former President for Northern California VOAD and served on their Executive Committee from 2011-2015. A San Francisco native, Emily received a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside in June 2007 and a Certificate of Non-Profit Management from San Francisco State University in 2012.
