Message from the Executive Director:

We are very pleased to report that on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009, Florida Governor Christ resisted a tsunami of lobbying by State Farm and its agent force and put the property owners in his state first by vetoing HB1171. HB1171 would have stripped Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation of authority to regulate property insurance rates, and would have allowed State Farm to put virtually unlimited rate increases into effect.
