My friend was just notified by her auto insurance that they were raising her "5 points" because of "Homicide or assault arising out of the operation of a motor vehicle." My friend did have a misdemeanor conviction, but it was certainly not a homicide or assault! What can I do to get this insurance company to back down? Are they bound by any laws? Just the thought of having "homicide and assault" on an insurance record is damning - and false!(California)
