After a fire loss can insurance company non-renew all coverages at time of policy expiration date. Per the insurance code it states that liability coverage cannot be removed while a claim is still open. Not clear about this provision of the code. Fire claim is still open and we received a NON_RENEWAL letter for all provisions of the policy. Is it legal for insurance company to non-renew policy in middle of a claim? Or must they still provide liability coverage while the claim is still open ?
