We Live in Sevier County, TN and have rental properties and sustained severe Hail damage to several of them after last years (April 27) hail storm, our insurance company is a "County Mutual" Ins. Co (Farmers Mutual Fire Ins. Co. of Sevier County) and they have lied to us, denied our claims saying our policies were expired..(which later was determined to be false) and given us the run around repeatedly, we even found out we have been paying over 3x the amount of coverage we needed (which cost us high premiums), yet when we contacted "Kerry" at the State Of TN Dept. of Commerce and Insurance Div., we were told "county mutuals" could pretty much do what they wanted, including "lie" to us and there was nothing they could do..apparently they are not "regulated", Is there anything else we can do or anyone we can contact for help, short of hiring an expensive Atty.?
