My family's home was damaged by a fire in Oct 2011. This is now the middle of February and our insurance company has not yet paid out. They have hired a lawyer and demanded that we submit to an examintion under oath and provide extensive paperwork showing our financial situation, telephone records, etc. We recently received our insurance renewal paperwork, and we were shocked to find that our premium has tripled with no explanation! Is this legal? They have not even settled our claim yet!
