I received a quote for a rebuild of a rental duplex in NV in which the depreciation reduced the toal by 24%! I am shocked. I am away on vacation and do not have a "full" policy with me. Is depreciation like this a normal feature of fire insurance? Is there any way to legally negotiate this? Is there an government agency in NV that would help me?
