I am a Disaster Case Manager in NJ and a client asked me whether he can use his flood insurance payment to pay down his mortgage if he is not going to rebuild his home and then use the approved Blue Acres Buyout money to buy a new home; in addition, what happens to the flood insurance money received if a client agrees to take the Blue Acres buyout and not rebuild their home?
