I have a dirt/ledge unfinished basement with my heating system (forced hot air)located within. I have lived here for 14 years and have gotten incredibly ill since living here with Multi systemic immune disease. I have made two claims to Amica Insurance. They sent an engineer out the second time (to cover their concerns, I guess). My claim was denied based on the concept that the mold continues to exist and be spread throughoutt my home because pre-existing foundation supports mold, mildew, mushroom growth along the dirt floor portion of the basement. They stated that I should have a gutter on the other side of the house for proper drainage, but I have installed a French drain and a "Be Dry" water management system. They will not cover any expenses to eradicate this condition that is causing me serious illness. I have tested positive for many allergies and have a mold HLDR4 present in my bloodwork. Please advise me if there is any way that I can have Amica remediate my current mold condition? I am now on disability and can not afford to do this work myself.
