PERSONAL LOSS INVENTORY FREQUENCY OF SUBMISSION

My adjuster at State Farm requested that I do not submit more lists until they analyze the previous one that I submitted. We are concerned because it has been almost 2 months since our previous submission and we want to submit receipts for those items we replaced. The adjuster keeps asking for our patience. Is it our right to submit as many personal loss lists as often as we can? We are worried our time will run out because of the delays we are experiencing.

Your adjuster should not, and cannot, dictate to you when you submit receipts for payment. You are entitled to submit receipts for payment as you incur them. You can and should submit your receipts as you obtain them, and should not wait for your claims adjuster to tell you that he is caught up and able to process more. As you accurately note, there are time limits involved in obtaining reimbursement, and your adjuster’s issues with timeliness cannot be permitted to affect your ability to recoup your losses.
