I had a fire on June 30th. dwelling cost to repair $125.000 thats not the issue. its with the personal items. my inventory shows about $ 247.000. state farm declared all contents as a total lose. so far they paid $73.000 and i'm going through about 100 open items and depreciation and all of that. my question is.. when something is a total loss am i not entitled to the cap of my policy ? cap is $182.000, if the content loss exceeds my cap ? please help me understand the guidelines regarding total loss.
